This quick guide answers frequently asked questions about managing Patient Mobile from the staff side. It covers how administrators choose which documents patients can see, and how staff register patients, send forms and handle appointment reminders.
How do I manage the documents that a patient can see in Patient Mobile?
Administrators control this in System Configuration. You choose which Document Types patients can see, and in what order.
- Go to System Configuration > Libraries > Patient Mobile > Documents Type List.
- Use the Organization filter if needed. It defaults to your own organization; Enterprise Admins see all organizations.
- Click + Add Type and pick a Document Type that is not yet shown to patients. It is added as Active.
- To change a row, click Edit, then update Order (the display sequence) or Status (Active or Inactive) and click Save.
- To stop showing a type, click Remove and confirm.
- Document Type names and descriptions are managed under Libraries > Documents > Document Types and cannot be edited on this screen.
- If a Document Type is made Inactive there, it is hidden from patients, even if it is Active here. It reappears if reactivated.
- You need the Patient Mobile section permission in your role to see or change this screen.
How do I register patients in Patient Mobile, send assessments / forms and set appointment reminders?
Register patients in Patient Mobile
- Open the patient's chart and go to Demographics > Patient Mobile.
- Check the Email field. It is filled in from the patient's record if one exists; edit if needed. An email is required.
- Click Send Invite. The Status changes to Invited / Pending. Click again to resend.
The status shows No Invitation Sent, Invited / Pending, Active / Registered (set automatically when the patient finishes setup) or Declined. If the patient does not want to use the app, check Patient declines participating in using VieCure Patient Mobile. This disables Send Invite; uncheck it to reverse. Every change is recorded in the audit trail.
Send assessments / forms
Administrators build the form templates under System Configuration > Libraries > Patient Mobile > Forms Builder. Assigned forms appear for the patient in the app, and a new form notification can be sent to them. When the patient submits a form, staff are notified through a Worklist task.
Set appointment reminders
Reminders are sent automatically 48 hours before the appointment, and the timing is the same for all clinics. They are not configurable. Patients who are not enrolled in Patient Mobile or have no valid mobile number do not receive them.
